Summer 25

BONJOUR MES AMIS DU VIN,

Thomas here from Kinross, and I could not be more excited to share this summer’s selection with you – truly, it is magnifique! We have chosen each bottle with sunshine, long lunches and celebrations in mind, so you can almost feel Gibbston’s warm breeze in your glass.

I am especially thrilled to introduce Aura, our brand new Blanc de Noir Rosé and the latest addition to the Kinross family. It is crisp, refreshing and elegant, the kind of wine that simply dances across the palate. This is the bottle I want in my hand all summer… preferably by the vines, with good friends and laughter all around.

Behind the scenes, we have been very busy during winter and autumn getting everything ready for you. Our new website is live, dressed in beautiful Kinross colours and much easier to explore, so you can find your favourite wines and experiences in just a few clicks. We also have a fantastic new leader in our Cellar Door team, Brandon, who has joined us all the way from Colorado. His energy, warmth and fresh perspective fit perfectly with the Kinross spirit.

At the bottom of this page you will find a few Kinross updates so you can see what we have been working on. For now, I hope this summer selection brings you as much joy as it has brought me putting it together.

Santé,

Thomas
General Manager of Wine, Kinross

From the Vineyard – Kinross Updates

It’s all go here at Kinross, and we love being able to share it with our Wine Club family. From what’s happening in the vines to new faces on the team and special wines on the horizon, we wanted to give you a little peek behind the scenes from our corner of Gibbston.

Here are a few updates from us to you – like catching up with old friends over a glass of something delicious.

Sales Manager

Brandon Watts

Meet Brandon, our new Sales Manager and one of the warmest welcomes you’ll find at Kinross. Originally from Colorado, he’s fallen in love with life in New Zealand, especially sharing this special corner of Central Otago with his family. Brandon is deeply passionate about developing his team and making sure our valued Wine Club members feel genuinely looked after at every step of their journey with us.

On a sunny Central Otago afternoon, you’re likely to find him down by the lake, sharing a bottle of Luminaire Rosé with his wife Candace – enjoying great wine, good company, and the simple pleasures that make this place home.

Have you spotted our revamped Kinross “Hollywood” sign yet?

It’s back – louder, prouder, more modern and eye-catching than ever. Framing the vines and mountains, it’s become a bit of a landmark in the valley, and we love seeing guests stop for a photo on their way in.

Next time you visit, make sure you grab a snap with the new sign and tag us – it’s all part of the Kinross experience.

Shipping Warehouse

We’re also excited to share a big step forward behind the scenes – led by our recently promoted Shipping Manager, Stu Curtain. Stu has championed the development of our very own dedicated export warehouse – a modern, upgraded space with greater capacity and smarter systems.

What does that mean for you? It allows us to care for our wine inventory more precisely and efficiently, helping ensure your Wine Club deliveries are looked after from our door to yours, so your wines arrive in the best possible condition, wherever you are in the world.

High Garden Vineyard with

Robin Tedder

Our team recently spent a day up at High Garden Vineyard, perched higher in the Gibbston Valley, and came back absolutely buzzing. We got to walk the rows, hear first-hand about their sustainability-focused growing initiatives, and see how thoughtful vineyard practices are shaping the future of these wines.

We were also treated to a sneak preview of the 2024 High Garden Pinot Noir – elegant, expressive, and a beautiful reflection of its elevated site – as well as a hands-on look at vine grafting in action. And the best part? Watch this space… there’s a very special Chardonnay coming soon that we can’t wait to share with you.

Wild Irishman

TLW - The Light Within

Alan and Brian Shaw are proud to release a very special new wine – TLW, The Light Within. Crafted with patience and intention, this Pinot Noir was allowed to speak for itself, spending extended time in barrel to gently shape its character without overshadowing its purity.

The result is a unique and elegant statement of place from Gibbston – a wine that captures the quiet beauty, light and energy of the valley in every glass. TLW – The Light Within is a reflection of both the land and the hands that guided it, and we are thrilled to finally share it with you.

Valli

Hogan Pinot Noir 2024

Valli winemaker Jen Parr has just released a very special Pinot Noir – Hogan. Named in honour of Hogan, New Zealand’s first ovarian cancer medical detection dog, this wine doesn’t just taste extraordinary, it does genuine good in the world too. A portion of proceeds from every bottle supports K9MD, the Otago charity training Hogan and other clever dogs to detect cancer earlier.

Hogan Pinot Noir comes from the tiny, high-altitude Twilight Vineyard in Gibbston and is all about elegance and perfume – think lilac, rose petals, red cherry, plum and gentle baking spice, with fine tannins and bright acidity giving it beautiful finesse and length. It is a wine to savour slowly over a special meal, and one that will reward careful cellaring for many years to come.

Hawkshead

Riesling 2025

Say hello to the Hawkshead Riesling 2025 – a bright, finely crafted new release now available for Wine Club members to add to their cellars. Perfectly suited to Central Otago’s cool climate, this Riesling leans towards the drier side of off-dry, showcasing entwined layers of lime, greengage plum, honey blossom and spice.

The vibrant flavours carry seamlessly onto the palate, intensified by fine, linear mineral notes that linger on the finish. Subtle richness is lifted by fresh, racy acidity, creating a lovely tension between flavour, texture and crispness. It’s an elegant, food-friendly style that pairs beautifully with light poultry, pork and fish dishes. If you’d like to learn more or add a few bottles to your next order, reach out to the wine team, they would be delighted to talk you through it.

The First Pour

Were you able to join us on Saturday 29 November for The First Pour? We had such a magical day in the Tipi at Kinross – glasses clinking, stories flowing and those first tastes of our new release wines being shared together.

Catching up with our Wine Club members in person is always so special, and celebrating these new wines with you all truly topped it off. If you couldn’t make it this time, keep an eye on your inbox – invitations for next year’s release party will be heading your way, and we’d love to see you there.
