Mother Nature had been challenging since 2019 and the First Vines is now back 6 years later with an outstanding result. Only 2,400 bottles had been crafted by Dean Shaw to our Kinross family.

Tasting Notes

The 2024 ‘First Vines’ Pinot Noir invites you in with lifted aromatics of bright red cherry and juicy plum. Beneath the fruit lies a classic Gibbston signature, dried wild herbs, sweet spice, and a whisper of rocky earth.

On the palate, this wine is supple and textural, with a silky mouthfeel that enhances its vibrant red fruit core. Gentle oak influence and fine-grained tannins create structure, while the natural acidity brings freshness and drive.

Elegant and expressive, this is a wine that speaks clearly of its place of origin. Beautifully poised and already drinking well, it will continue to evolve gracefully for 10+ years in cellar.

100% handpicked, de-stemmed and malolactic fermentation

Aged for 9 months in 21% new French oak.

Terms and Conditions

There are no refunds available once we have dispatched the wine to you. We do not refund if the wine is faulty after opening. If your order has been packed incorrectly or is not what you paid for please let us know within 7 days of delivery so we can repack and send you the correct wine.

Kinross will make every effort to ensure that your wine is shipped to your door quickly and efficiently, and on the above timetable. However, we rely on third parties to undertake delivery, and as such delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. If you require delivery within time frames less than the above, please send an email to wine@kinross.nz and our team will try our best to complete the order in the time frame requested. This may increase delivery costs, and we will advise you if this is the case.
