TASTING NOTES

Opening with wild berry, spice and subtle forest floor, the palate brings finesse and elegance supported by firm, fine tannins. Complex yet restrained, with a long, savoury finish. A pure reflection of the Waitaki Valley’s cool climate and limestone soils.

Crafted from 19-year-old vines in the limestone soils of the Waitaki Valley, this single-vineyard Pinot Noir reflects the distinctive character of one of New Zealand’s most intriguing wine regions. The fruit was harvested from the Q Wine Vineyard – a site originally planted by Jules Stephan in 2002, whose vision, alongside Jules Matthews, was to create wines that speak clearly of place and purity.

Single vineyard, 100% hand-picked Waitaki (North Otago) Pinot Noir fruit from 20 year old vines. Clones: 5, Abel, 667 and 115. The fruit was 100% de-stemmed. Aged for 9 months in 15% new French oak. No fining.

Open the bottle just before service at 16 - 18 degrees Celcius.
