This special wine was chosen by Jen Parr as the pick of the barrels of 2022 Gibbston vintage. We decided this very special Pinot Noir was worthy of its own range.

This 2023 Waitaki Pinot Noir was crafted for us by Valli’s talented winemakers Jen Parr & Grant Taylor. Like Burgundy, the soils are limestone based which lend an incredible ethereal nature to the wines, which are highlighted by perfume and minerality.

Elegant and refined, with dark red fruits and cranberry abound on the palate with elegant and delicately integrated tannins finely balanced by a minerality, typical of the Coal Pit vineyard.

Elegant and refined, the Tiwha instantly captivates with a ripe perfume of red bramble berries, exotic Chinese 5 spice, and a savoury hint of wild thyme and porcini mushroom.

Rich aromatics of black forest, earthy mushroom, nutmeg and fennel abound, with hints of dried rose petals, rose water and a brooding dark spice.

Rich and seductive impressions of dark fruits emerge; plums, black currants and ripe cherries. The flavours are beautifully intertwined with subtle mocha spice and a suggestion of wood smoke.

This wine shows excellent concentration, subtle, refined acidity and integrated velvety tannins, and those attributes lead to a long, harmonious finish.
