Kinross Harvest Celebration - 2021

Kinross Harvest Celebration - 2021

We are very excited to announce a new event in Gibbston, to celebrate the annual Central Otago wine harvest, to be held in and around Kinross Winery next month.

The first annual Kinross Harvest Celebration will take place from 7– 16 May. It will include a range of interesting and exciting events aimed at celebrating this important time of year for our region’s winegrowers and viticulturists.

The Harvest Celebration pays homage to our region’s world-class wine industry, while providing locals and visitors a chance to take part in some fun and informative tasting and wine related activities.

Events range from a battle of the world’s best pinot noirs, a road trip through NZ's best wine regions, a blind tasting, a vineyard walk, and even a 5km vineyard dog dash, recognising the important role dogs play in the lives of those who work in the wine industry. All showcasing the talented winemakers and craftsmanship of our wine partners Coal Pit, Hawkshead, Valli and Wild Irishman wines.

The range of events celebrates the culmination of a year’s hard work, as everyone in the wine industry comes together to pick the vintage’s fruit and reflect on a year that was far from the average.

It also gives the wider Queenstown community an opportunity to get an insider’s view into the annual harvest, at a time when the wine making community is usually preoccupied with the business of getting the grapes off the vines.

Our GM, Christine Erkkila, says “The Harvest Celebration is a wonderful chance for us to take a moment to applaud the incredible standard of wine our region produces, and the considerable contribution our industry makes to the area.”

“The Harvest Celebration aims to showcase some of the best of what Gibbston has to offer. It has something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re an avid collector or an amateur wine enthusiast.”

We hope you can come along and join us!
