Doctors Flat Vineyard sits high in Bannockburn at around 300 metres above sea level. Planted in 2002 by Steve Davies, the 3 hectare site is entirely Pinot Noir, with clones 114, 777 and 115 grown on a mix of rootstocks.

TASTING NOTES

Perhaps the most pure and precise version of this site that we have made.

The nose is complex, with an array of red, dark and blue fruits coupled with
intense florals and spice. On the palate, the wine is juicy, broad and is incredibly well structured, yet the tannic profile is much rounder and softer than we know from this site, thanks to extended élevage.

A very long finish shows both power and finesse. This will reward careful cellaring.

Fermented by clone to add complexity to the final wine. Just one punchdown and one pumpover during ferment, a less-is-more approach helped tease out the subtle characters that we feel represent this site.

After 11 months in 20% new oak, the wine was racked and returned to old oak for another 5 months to further soften the naturally present tannic
structure.

It was bottled in late August 2026.
